On this page you will find the frequently asked questions.- An environmental sticker is proof that your vehicle meets certain emission standards. The sticker is mandatory for entering the environmental zones that have been introduced in a large number of German cities since 2008.
- An environmental zone, also called Umweltzone in Germany, is an area in Germany where the government tries to improve the air quality. An area that qualifies can be recognised by the traffic signs with 'Umweltzone' on it.
- If you are travelling to Germany by car, you must remember that there are environmental zones in some areas of Germany. When you enter an environmental zone, you are required to have an environmental sticker on your car, that is appropriate for the environmental zone in question.
- Right of withdrawal
Right of withdrawal of the mediation service NJ Travel
You have the right to withdraw from the agreement with NJ Travel regarding the mediation service within a period of 14 days without giving reasons. This withdrawal period expires 14 days after the agreement has been concluded, or the day on which you have submitted the application for mediation to us.
*However, the right of withdrawal expires sooner if you have requested us, when making your application, to start immediately with the mediation service and have agreed that your right of withdrawal will expire as soon as the mediation service has been fully performed. This is the case if the intended agreement to which the application relates has been concluded.
Right of withdrawal regarding the agreement with the provider of the digital vignette
You have the right to withdraw from the agreement that has been concluded with the provider of the digital vignette through our mediation service within a period of 14 days without giving reasons. This withdrawal period expires 14 days after the relevant agreement has been concluded, or when we have concluded the agreement with the provider on your behalf.
To exercise the right of withdrawal
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform NJ Travel B.V. Piet Heinstraat 7, 7204 JN Zutphen, +31854017689, contact@vignetoostenrijk.nl via an unequivocal statement (e.g. in writing by post or e-mail) of your decision to withdraw from the agreement. You can also use the European concept withdrawal form (download here), but the use of this form is not mandatory. To comply with the withdrawal period, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning the exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired. The foregoing also applies to the withdrawal statement that relates to agreements that have been concluded through the mediation service of NJ Travel.
Consequences of the right of withdrawal
If you withdraw from the agreement, all* payments you have made so far will be refunded, including any delivery charges (with the exception of any additional charges for choosing another delivery method than the cheapest standard delivery offered by us) without undue delay and in any case no later than 14 days after we have been informed of your decision to withdraw from the agreement. We will refund the money via the same payment method as you used for the original transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, no fees will be charged for such refunds.
* If you have requested that the provision of the (mediation) services begin during the withdrawal period, you will pay an amount that is proportional to what has already been delivered at the time you have notified us that you are withdrawing from the agreement, compared to the full performance of the agreement.

*Delete what is not applicable or complete what is applicable. - The motorways in Germany are excluded from the requirement, even if the motorway runs through an environmental zone. In addition, if you stay outside the environmental zones, you do not need to buy an environmental sticker. A number of vehicles do not need an environmental sticker anyway:
Motorcycles, scooters, light mopeds, mopeds and other three-wheeled vehicles
Disabled vehicles with a European disabled parking permit
Agricultural machinery
Work traffic
Emergency services
Mobil equipment and machinery
If your vehicle is registered in the EU with a registration number that is at least 30 years old and has a so-called H registration number or a red 07 registration number.
A car registered in the Netherlands with a blue registration plate with a date of first admission before 01-01-1978. - Depending on your car, you will get a green or yellow sticker. Red stickers are not allowed anywhere in Germany's environmental zones, which is why we will not supply them. The sticker determines which environmental zone you may or may not enter.
We read the details of your car and use it to determine which sticker you are entitled to. You can generally assume the following:
Green sticker:
Petrol cars: admitted from 01-01-1993
Diesel cars: admitted from 01-01-2006
Yellow sticker:
Diesel cars: admitted from 01-01-2001 till 31-12-2005
A yellow sticker can only be used in Neu-Ulm. For all other environmental zones, you will need a green sticker.
How long before departure will I apply for my environmental sticker for Germany?
Make sure you apply for your environmental sticker for Germany on time! The sticker will be printed and posted within one working day. It may take 2 working days before you receive your sticker. We rely on PostNL for the delivery. For delivery to Belgium, it may take 3 working days. No mail will be delivered on Sunday and Monday. - You will receive the environmental sticker for Germany by post at the address you have specified.
- Your environmental sticker for Germany is valid for an indefinite period as long as you have the same registration number. In the event of a breakage of the windscreen or a change of car, you must buy a new sticker.
- Yes, the green environmental sticker is valid throughout Germany for entering an environmental zone. The yellow environmental sticker is only valid in the town of Neu-Ulm.

*Delete what is not applicable or complete what is applicable. - Unfortunately, that is not possible. Once the environmental sticker has been printed on your registration number and has been sent, you can no longer make any changes.
- No, you can only affix your environmental sticker once. The sticker is valid for an indefinite period and is registered on the registration number.
- Yes, you must buy a new environmental sticker. A sticker cannot be affixed twice.
- If your vehicle does not have an environmental sticker, an incorrect environmental sticker or an incorrectly affixed environmental sticker, you may be fined. Without a sticker you risk a fine of 80 euros.
- Emission zones are still being added. In addition, the areas that have already been set up as environmental zones will become stricter with the admission of cars with a low emission class (high emissions of particulate matter). Germany wants to start working with the toll system from 2019 or 2020. However, this is not yet the case.
- If you enter the place of departure and arrival on the home page, you will see clearly which products are mandatory for your trip.
i-Vignette NJ Vignette B.V. is an intermediary and applies for the vignette on your behalf and in your name. NJ Vignette B.V. charges a commission for this.
An agreement is concluded between you and the official authority of the relevant country that issues the vignette, with regard to the vignette requirement.
